Writing Tips For Ebook Authors

I'm sure you will agree with me that writing is not just about putting "anything" down, it's about providing contents that meet the needs of your prospective readers, that will attract their interest, make them feel they need to read it, inform them, convince them to believing what you've put in it for them and the list goes on and on.

This is not an exception to writing ebooks, take a moment to think about it, will you be a fulfilled writer or author if nobody or few people buy your stuffs? I'm sure you will not, you neither like such situation nor do I.

For your ebooks to sell beyond expectation, the following tips will go a long way in assisting you:

1) Select hot topics to write about: The first step in writing your prospective best seller is selecting a topic (not just a topic, but a hot topic), a topic people are interested in reading about, a topic people are willing to pay for. Here are some hot topics at present: loss weight, marketing, home business, dating & relationships, dieting, technology, etc. On selecting your topic, you will be able to define your target audience and how to meet their needs by asking yourself the following questions:

- Who are they?
- What do they need?
- What is available (your competitors)?
- What can you offer that is different?

On answering the above questions carefully, you should be able to come up with a solid layout for your ebook.

2) Brainstorm ideas for your hot topics: If you have little or no idea of what to write about your hot topics, I think it's time to brainstorm. Most folks out there believe this is a big task, you may even have bought a book that preaches such believe. Take me for my words, it's not nearly as hard as you think or made to think if you know a few "tricks of the trade". Guest what? That's what I'm here for.

One of the things you will need is called "Starter Swipe File". Definition: "a starter swipe file is a collection of ideas to write about, written in a single sentence formatted template" - Jimmy D. Brown in his "S.M.A.L.L REPORT FORTUNE" ebook.

Example: One of the effective tips people use in ______ is ______

You could use this starter sentence to create paragraphs of content about virtually any topic in the world:

- One of the effective tips people use in marketing is ______
- One of the effective tips people use in dating is ______
- One of the effective tips people use in losing weight is ______
- One of the effective tips people use in dieting is ______
- One of the effective tips people use in making money online is ___

Do you see how it works? You can also turn it round. Example:

One of the effective tips people fail to use in dating is ______

These starter sentences will help you develop ideas anytime you want to.

3) Sheer volume of information: Provide information that differentiates your ebooks from the crowd, something that makes your ebook more advantageous to the potential customers than that of your competitors. Offer 100% original, exclusive information that will send their mind racing for ideas, provide content (at least portion of it) that no one else is offering. These will make them feel "if I need the information, this stuff is my best bet".

I hope this information will be useful to you. Guest what? As bonus for reading this post, I have two free ebooks for you namely: 30 writing tips for ebook authors and S.M.A.L.L REPORT FORTUNE.
